Hello,

Can I use the adjective "sportive" as in the following sentence?:

I am a very sportive person

I agree with bhai that it is grammatically correct. I feel that most native speakers would not say 'I am a very sportive person'. If they were going to use an adjective, they'd probably go for 'sporty', but they are more likely to say something like 'I am very keen on sport'.
 
What does it mean? Do you use it in common conversation?

I was going to ask you if you knew what it meant. I had to look it up as it's very seldom used in common conversation.

It means playful, merry or frolicsome, as well as showing an interest in sports.

Where did you encounter it?

To be honest I don't remember where I have seen it. :roll:
