Hi, please can someone tell me whether it is correct to follow the verb 'to state' with another verb, as in 'some members stated to go there regularly' or 'some people stated to drink tea, while others stated to prefer coffee'.

Those are not correct. "Some members stated that they went there regularly". "Some people stated that they liked to drink tea, while others stated that they preferred coffee".

Thanks for confirming :). I guess you can also say "Some members claimed to go there regularly"
