Are you really saying that you would stick around with me if I was paralyzed from the neck down?

Does "stick around with someone" mean the same as "stick around" in the link below? The meaning doesn't make sense in the definition below.

Yes, that is what the idiom means - to remain at a place for some time but, in the context, it is said light-heartedly to mean "to persevere through a difficult situation".
 
I find "stick around with me" rather unnatural. I'd expect:

Do you mean you'd stick with me [even] if I were paralysed ...?
Do you mean you'd stick around [even] if I were paralysed ...?
