Dear teachers,

Would you tell me whether I am right about my interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentence?

He’s had a streak of bad luck, but this time he had a stroke of luck.

streak of bad luck = a continuous spell of bad fortune

streak = an unbroken series of events

stroke of luck = stroke of fortune = windfall

stroke = anything that happens suddenly or by chance without an apparent cause

Thanks for your efforts.

Regards,

V
