Hi there. Would you please proofread the following text? Any help would be appreciated.

********************************************************************************************************

Life returned to normal, and though the memory of the meteor strike would fade over the generations, it would become an often-told story. Xunying's sketch of Moogh's heroic run to the cave was preserved and eventually hung in successive council buildings. No meteors struck the valley again, though shooting stars did appear, streaking across the sky from time to time.

Xunying and Lanhua’s relationship blossomed into marriage, and Lanhua became pregnant shortly after. Gan continued to admire Xunying's skills and took him under his wing in an apprenticeship fashion, teaching him the principals of civil engineering and mathematics, something at which Xunying became quite accomplished.

Lanhua had her baby and named him Ruiyang in honour and remembrance of her grandfather Yang and her uncle Rui. Not long after, Gan, as Lanhua had foretold, announced his intention to take his journal to the cave near the city of his birth.
