What do you mean by "the meaning of the kind of sentence"?

If you had invited me, I + would have + come to your party last night. But you did not invite me.

Some people think that if the democracies had been very firm with country X during the 1930's, country X + would +

not + have started World War II. But they were not firm.

If Mona had studied hard last week, she + would have + passed the test today. But she did not study hard, so she

did not pass the test today.


Ms. X lived for a hundred years. She never married. But if she had married someone, she + would have + married

only for love, not for money. But she never met the man of her dreams.
 
So, "would have +verb" expresses something we wil do in the past, the onliy thing is it was not truth.we didn't do that.
