1. Many students such as Tom, Jack, and Mike have finished their homework.

2. Many students have finished their homework, for example, Tom, Jack, and Mike.

3. Many students have finished their homework, such as Tom, Jack, and Mike.
(Written by me)

I’d like to know if all three sentences are correct.

I think the first two sentences are common and the last one is rare. What do you say?

The example sentences are very bad and the question is not clear.

What are you trying to learn? How to use such as?

Sorry, let me improve my sentences and make my question clear.

1. Many famous Chinese writers such as Luxun, Laoshe, Bajin, lived in this house.

2. Many famous Chinese writers lived in this house, such as Luxun, Laoshe, Bajin.

My question is this.
Can the phrase “such as Luxun, Laoshe, Bajin” be put in the two places?

Sorry. Let me improve my sentences and make my question clear.

1. Many famous Chinese writers, such as Luxun, Laoshe no comma here and Bajin, lived in this house.

2. Many famous Chinese writers lived in this house, such as Luxun, Laoshe no comma here and Bajin.

[STRIKE]My question is this.[/STRIKE]
Can the phrase “such as Luxun, Laoshe and Bajin” be put in [STRIKE]the two[/STRIKE] both places?

Yes, but sentence 1 is the better of the two because it keeps the list of writers closer to "Many famous Chinese writers", rather than closer to "this house".

Famous writers are worthier of the name-check than examples of students who have simply handed their homework in.
