Let's there is an axe with a sharp side and a blunt side. I swing the axe at a block of wood, with the blunt side of the axe hitting the wood.

"I swung the axe with the blunt side at the wood. "
"I swung the axe with the blunt side forward at the wood. "
"I swung the axe with the blunt side towards at the wood. "

Which are the correct English sentences?

"Yi reportedly said he would not pay Zhao the $1,000 until all the work was completed. Zhao then allegedly swung his pickax with the flat side at Yi, hitting him in the back and then the head."

Then, this should edited to "swung his pickax with the flat side towards at Yi"?

I swung the axe with the blunt side towards the wood.
