I have a question about 'take in and take on' here:
* Mary wants to take on more responsibilities; however,
I think she has enough work to do already.
I check the dictionary that it says 'to take in' means 'to grant admittance or to receive'
So can I use 'take in' here? Does it mean she wants to accept/receive more responsibilities?
And can I say: I will have to take in new staff this summer?
I'm so confused about these 2 phrases. Can you kindly explain them for me?
Thank you very much!
