Hi.

I wrote one thing about my childhood and it goes like "I always talked back to my mom when I was young".

Is it natural?

Hi.

I wrote [STRIKE]one thing[/STRIKE] the following about my childhood: [STRIKE]and it goes like[/STRIKE]

"I always talked back to my mom when I was young".

Is it natural?

It's grammatically correct and relatively natural. It really depends on who you're talking to.

If someone interviewing you for a job says "What were you like as a child?", you would be a bit more cagey and say something like "I was a wilful child, perhaps even deviant".
If someone you work with and know fairly well asks you the same question, you might use your sentence.
If your best friend, with whom you have a really close, honest relationship asks you, you might say "Oh, I was an absolutely nightmare! I gave my mum sh*t all the time!"
