Please check my answers to the following grammar test.

1. There are researchers have found that optimists are more likely to succeed in life than pessimists, their direct opposites.
2. In the United States in the 1990, more than two-thirds of new jobs were temporary positions and these temporary workers make up more than 25 percent of the work force.
3. The stretch marks a woman gets after childbirth would not be there if she does not bring a new life into being.
4. Technological advances have replaced purely physical strength in many factory operations, allow women to fill new roles.
5. Grinding is a way in shaping an object by wearing away some of the material of which it is made.

My answers are as below.

1. There are researchers have found that optimists are more likely to succeed in life than pessimists, whose direct opposites.

3. The stretch marks a woman getting after childbirth would not be there if she does not bring a new life into being.

Your #4 and #5 are correct. I have done #1 for you, and highlighted the mistakes in #2 and #3.

2. per cent should be two words.

#3 is a hypothetical conditional sentence. The marks would not be there if she did not bring new life into being.
