Which of the following I should use if I want to send SMS?
Send me your reply via a text message.
Text me.
Tell me through text message.
Message me.
Tell/send/message …
Your first sentence says "if I want to send
an SMS". None of your suggestions state that you want to send a text. They state that you want someone else to send you a text.
I agree with 5jj that if I text someone, I expect them to answer by text. However, if you are emailing them, writing to them, or leaving them a voicemail, you can say:
- Please reply by text.
- Please text me.
- Text me.
- Send me a text.
- Send your reply by text.
I would add my mobile number after all of those in case the person doesn't have it. That wouldn't be necessary if your initial contact was made by text because they could just hit "Reply".
In all of those examples, you can use "SMS" instead of "text". In BrE, we rarely use "SMS" but I know it's used extensively in other countries.
