Hi Teachers
If I am writing about the ancestors of a person who is not living, what's the correct tense to be used? Should I write "X was the son of so-and-so" OR "X is the son of so-and-so"
It seems grammatically correct to write "was", but from a logical viewpoint X remains the son of so-and-so whether he is alive or dead, so shouldn't it be "is"?
Would appreciate your views on this.
Thank you.
