Yes you can say that too: I was doing exercises during the whole morning.

Your own sentence in post #1 is correct too:
I was doing exercises for two hours.
or
I was exercising for two hours.

3. I did exercises for two hours.

4. I exercised for two hours.

4. I was doing exercises for two hours.

5. I was exercising for two hours.

Natural English would be "I was doing exercises all morning" if you are talking about written work or something like maths problems. If you were doing some kind of physical exercise (yoga etc), then you can say "I was doing exercise all morning" although you won't hear that very often. If you were doing unspecified physical exercise, then "I was exercising all morning" is fine.

They really don't work with "during the whole morning". It's not ungrammatical, it's just that "all morning" is much more natural and heard more frequently.

Often, people use "during" when "throughout" would be a better choice. For example:

He snored during the whole/entire meeting.
He snored throughout the meeting.

The second is much more natural.
