That is more about the process of selling than it is about the quantity of items being sold. Let's talk about cars rather than burgers.

If I say that the new Jeep Cherokee is selling fast, it means that they are selling a great number of them.

But they are not sold fast. It still takes an hour or more of paperwork in order to buy a car.
