Can one use:
1) The crisis in June took a turn for the worse.
instead of:
2) The crisis took a turn of the worse in June.

The meaning of 2 is clear. The crisis existed before June but took a turn for the worse in June.

1 seems odd to me. It would make sense if the sentence is about a point of time in June.

Gratefully,
Navi.

Your sentence 2 is incorrect with "turn of the worse".

Thank you very much Mike and my apologies for the mistake.

It had to be:

2) The crisis took a turn for the worse in June.

I do not know how I made that mistake and how I did not notice it when I reread my post.

Sorry.

Gratefully,
Navi.

Navi, everybody does that. No big deal.

Thank you both very much.

It is probably a mistake to never make mistakes. One would not know that feeling.

But I am asking a question here and I really do have to be more careful. There is a time and place for everything, even for messing things up!

Respectfully,
Navi.
