I have two adverb questions that you need to fill in "yelled" and "shouted".

But which one is suitable for "yelled" and which is suitable for "shouted"? What are the reasons?

"Hooray!" shouted/ yelled the children happily.

"I have just found a magic key!" she shouted/ yelled loudly.

"Yell" is "shout loudly". It probably suits your sentences, but it depends on what you have in mind.

I see you posted the same thread here.

Please do not post the same question simultaneously to more than one forum. Doing so wastes our valuable time. Instead, post your question to one forum and wait for replies. If you're not satisfied with those replies, you can try another forum, but please indicate in your thread that you've already asked the same question elsewhere (provide a link), and outline why you were not satisfied with the answers you received already.

It's rather subjective. I might say somebody is shouting if they are speaking in a voice that is louder than normal. I might say they are yelling if they are annoying me. (You might want to google "Stop yelling" compared to "Stop shouting".)

'Shout' is formal in register and 'yell' is informal.

How can you shout/yell quietly?

You can't, which is why I don't agree with that comment. ("Yell" is "shout loudly".)

You can shout loudly, but not quietly.;-)

Which one is a better choice -- "yelled" or "shouted"? What are the reasons?

I wouldn't use "loudly" there.

Didn't some painter prove you can scream silently? ;-)

In one of the most misunderstood things ever, the person in The Scream is not screaming, but trying to drown out the scream- the infinite scream throughout nature. It's up there with Karl Marx's comment about religion being the opiate of the people, where he was talking about pain relief among the miserable, not addiction and drug pushing.

How can you shout/yell quietly?
The same way you can widely close your eyes, respectfully insult someone, and gently slam the door after you slowly rush outside. ;-)
