Should I say/write, "The disappearance of Bormann" or "Bormann's disappearance"?

Thank you.

The surrounding sentence might make a difference. Please give us the entire sentence in which you want to use one of those fragments.

I'd say the choice of one form over the other is completely dependent upon the surrounding context.

Which of the two should I use in the sentence below?

The supposed disappearance of Bormann/Bormann's supposed disappearance surprised and alarmed the entire world.

Thank you.

I'd use the second word order, if only because it's shorter!
