Hi,
Could you please help me get what this means in the following piece from a lyrics?

"Tryna make this work
But you act like a jerk
Silly of me to keep holding on
But the dust cap is off
You don't know what you've lost
And you won't realise 'til i'm gone, gone, gone
That i was the one
Which one of us is really dumb? ooooh, noooo, noooo
No I'm not stupid in love."

Thanks in advance.

It makes no sense at all to me.

It's the lyrics from a song by Rihanna!!! I do hate the lyrics, never mind its details!
Could 'dust cap' possibly refer to the item in a speaker, and so by saying the 'dust cap is off' she might mean 'she's not going to say anymore, because she's disappointed or something?!

As we regularly find (and say), lyrics writers are under no obligation to make sense or to be grammatically correct. They just have to fit the words to the rhythm and the tune. Quality of language is frequently sacrificed.
