Soldiers dying on the battlefield cry out for their mothers.

I have heard about the soldiers dying on the battlefield crying out for their mothers. But I have never heard "do the dying".
 
Perhaps:

The woman had told him about their plans for the labor camps....

And:

Involuntary, Peter grabbed his crotch....

The phrase "laid his hand on his groin" doesn't seem natural.
 
Try:

If Anita decided to go with him that would be great, but if she stayed he would travel alone and find refuge in a country where men and women still behaved according to their natures.
 
It is men (usually young men) who do the fighting and the dying in wars.
 
Say:

Was it a man or a woman you were talking to or a new creature who had emerged because of an experiment or a genetic anomaly?
 
Last paragraph. Say:

Women grew mustaches and beards....

And:

He stopped by the shop that sold fishing gear....

And:

He wished to take his rod and his tackle box and sit by the river....
