See above. I'm pretty sure someone else told you before closing your other thread that we rarely buy shoes for other people. We might buy them a shirt as a present but it's not an everyday thing to do. You were also told that we don't ask for shoes and a shirt in the same sentence. In fact, in the UK, we are likely to buy them in separate shops.

As far as your final paragraph is concerned, I'm sorry to hear you had to go hospital. However, I suggest that when you have had a particularly hard day like that, you refrain from posting on the forum. It wastes your time and ours if, by your own admission, you're not concentrating.

I cannot image how I would say "shoes/shirt" in a conversation. The forward slash is not part of a conversation.

I am not sure why you decided to wrap that sentence in quotation marks and not the others.

A shoe size of 10 I can understand, but a shirt size of 46? What are the units? Shirts where I shop always come in neck sizes and sleeve length, e.g., 17/34 ---- and that's in inches.

You obviously don't buy European shirts.

I don't buy men's shirts but I thought they were measured in neck size too! T-shirts, sweatshirts etc might be done in chest size though in the UK, they're usually just S/M/L/XL/XXL.

In Canada we get both methods of sizing depending on where the shirts are manufactured. Here, you often see just S/M/L/XL/XXL or just the European 44, 46, etc... sizing by itself for dress shirts with no reference to neck size or sleeve length. They are made to a standard "normal" factors for that size. I personally hate that because I am 6'4" and weigh on the plus side of 235 lbs. I cannot buy such garments because I am not a "normal" sized person for those categories. Neck size and sleeve length are important to me when buying clothes, in addition to having a "tall" cut which is a few inches longer at the waist.

If you have never bought a man's shirt, you will never understand the difficulties many men have. It would be like me trying to buy a dress for a woman... I would not have a clue.

Indian people came up to my chest for the most part and in the area I was staying, Caucasians were few and far between. When I walked the streets exploring my surroundings, I must have had 1000 eyes on me at any given moment. I felt like Shrek.

If you are talking about Indians and especially Hindus then only Jats and Punjabis, rajasthanis and rajputs are big (all belong to warrior clan). But in Mumbai you won't find them a lot. But here in my place people from Jat community live and 6'2 or 6'3 is quiet normal here.
