Dear all,

The following is a part of a passage written about children's emotional growth.

...With their first lie to their parents, the power balance shifts a little: they now know something their parents don't know. With each new lie they gain a bit more power over the people who believe them. After a while, the ability to lie becomes just another part of their emotional landscape..

What does "emotional landscape mean? If lying is a part of it, what else are other parts?

Thank you!

Dear all,

Its it possible to rephrase "emotional landscape"?

Thank you!

I suppose you could replace "another part of their emotional landscape" with "another tool in their toolbox"
