[Vocabulary] The meaning of "give of"

Hi, there, Could you kindly explain the meaning of "give of" in "Religious Americans are more likely than their secular counterparts to give of their time and money to others ..." please? The sentence was quoted from The Great Partnership: Science, Religion, and the Search for Meaning by Jonathan Sacks. I tried OED and only found "give of oneself", which means "devote". It means "devote their time and money to others". More simply, "give their time...".

It's a formal and rather dated version of 'give some of'.
