What's the opposite of ''It's been a slow news day.'' A fast news day?

I'd say "a busy news day".

I'm not sure I understand "It's been a slow/busy news day". What does it mean? It's been a boring day?

A "slow news day" is a day on which very little happens which is newsworthy.
