The People who have arranged marriages are the happier ones in comparison to others those who don't(EMS wrote this).

Why "Those who don't" not "Those who haven't"?

If we use "Have" in the positive part then we have to use "Haven't" in the negative part of the sentence, in these kinds of sentences. Am I correct?

Perhaps:

People who have arranged marriages are happier than those who don't.

The above sentence is short for:

People who have arranged marriages are happier than those who don't have arranged marriages.

When you use a word like "happier" you don't have to add that you are making a comparison.

The People who have arranged marriages are the happier ones in comparison to others those who don't. (emsr2d2 wrote this).

I most certainly did not write that! That was your original sentence and I made a lot of changes. I have a feeling that my corrections and strikethroughs have been lost now that you've tried to quote it. With my corrections and strikethroughs, it would have read:

People who have arranged marriages are happier in comparison to/with those who don't.

I believe I also suggested using "than" instead of "in comparison to/with".

It's "those who don't" rather than "those who haven't" because it's short for:

"Those who have arranged marriages are happier than those who don't have arranged marriages."

And it looks like you've learned that "who have love marriages" is wrong and "who married for love" is right.

The people who have arranged marriages are the happier ones in comparison to others those who don't. ([STRIKE]EMS[/STRIKE] emsr2d2 wrote this).

Sorry, I failed to correct this.

Seriously, tufguy, that is NOT what I wrote!

1. I removed "the" before "people".
2. I changed "the happier ones" to "happier".
3. I didn't write "others" anywhere.

You need to remember that when you use "Reply with quote", the system removes all changes that were made in the part you're quoting. So all my corrections disappear and so do my strikethroughs. If you want to quote what I wrote, you have to copy it yourself - type all the words in yourself!

For the third time, here is what I wrote:

People who have arranged marriages are happier than those who don't.

I'm not going to take part in this thread any more - it's driving me mad.

Tufguy, please pay attention. Her name is abbreviated as Ems, not EMS. You have been told one thing at least twice and another thing three times. (It might be a good idea to reread everything to make sure you understand everything.)

And I would really rather people didn't abbreviate my username to "ems".

... especially as the sweeping statement which is the premise of the sentence is patently absurd.
