I emailed the interior designer who's designing our new home two pictures of home interiors I found in a magazine over a week ago. During our get together, I tell him in person:


The reason why I've emailed/I emailed you two pictures is/was because I want/wanted you to take a look at both pictures and use them to create your own design.


Which would a native say? Would it be better to use a the present tense or the past tense.
