Is the writing below natural in English?

"The sex scandals of (well-known artist) Wu Yifan and (musician) Li Yundi have not yet receded.Recently, the most popular one on the overseas Internet has been the case of the lover of a Politburo Standing Committee member and the tennis champion, who also claimed meToo.This has made many netizens figure out the mystery that the internal fighting of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has set off a new climax."

Source (It is written by a Chinese-born American (or a Chinese who has a green card)

As I see it, it is understandable and clear, but whether it is natural in English, I don't know.

I don't know whether it's a mistake in the original or in the translation, but there is something wrong with 'the most popular one'. As the previous sentence has been about the sex scandals involving Wi Yifan and Li Yundi, 'the most popular one' should be the most popular of those scandals. Instead it is used to mean the most popular sex scandal involving anybody.

Apart from that, 'popular' seems to be to be an odd word to use of scandals.

It seems very unnatural to me, and full of errors. I've tried to highlight them below:

The sex scandals of (well-known artist) Wu Yifan and (musician) Li Yundi have not yet receded.Recently, the most popular one on the overseas Internet has been the case of the lover of a Politburo Standing Committee member and the tennis champion, who also claimed meToo.This has made many netizens figure out the mystery that the internal fighting of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has set off a new climax.

OK, let me try to fix it. Comments would be appreciated:

The sex scandals of (well-known artist) Wu Yifan and (musician) Li Yundi have not yet faded. Recently, one gone viral on the Internet has been the case of the lover of a Politburo Standing Committee member and an international tennis champion, who also joined the MeToo movement. This has made many netizens aware of that the (fierce fire of) internal fighting of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has been ignited again.

My shot:

The sex scandals of well-known artist, Wu Yifan, and musician, Li Yundi, have not yet abated. Recently, the hottest scandal on the internet has been the case of the lover of a Politburo Standing Committee member and a tennis champion, which appeared on meToo (not sure what meToo is). This has made many netizens wonder whether the mystery about the internal fighting of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has set off a new climax.

"Climax" is an unfortunate word to use in relation to a sex scandal.

"Climax" is an unfortunate word to use in relation to a sex scandal.

Why unfortunate? It could have been intentional to associate the word with the sex scandal, rather than say "set off a new high". Sex scandals among politicians are nothing new.

I don't know why both are in the same conversation. Is it because they are the most talked about?

I guess so. The British press has reported the scandals.

I still don't understand why being risque in writing about a sex scandal is an unfortunate thing.

I suspect that SD's comment in post 7 was intended to be light-hearted.
