I found the following sentence on an online site (I can provide a specific link if needed) with the correct answer marked as C. Is C actually the correct answer? If so, why don’t the other options fit?

The sunsets of Eivissa __________ magnificent. We _________ the Balearic islands again next year.
A. may be, may visit
B. should be, should visit
C. can be, must visit
D. could be, could visit

Yes, you need to provide the link. Every time you copy someone else's text (from anywhere outside this forum), you must either provide a link, or cite the full source (title of publication/website and name(s) or author(s).

It's question #9.

Yes, the answer is C.

The other answers don't fit because none of them makes sense in the context given. In fact, as is always the case in this kind of exercise, they were written deliberately not to fit the context.

Can you explain why this is the correct answer? In what sense is 'can' used here? In the other options, is it the first part that doesn't fit?

In what sense is 'can' used here?

General possibility. Very basically, it's like saying that sunsets are sometimes magnificent.

In the other options, is it the first part that doesn't fit?

You're not supposed to think of just the first part. You have to make sense of the entire context.
