I went to the gym today thinking there wouldn't be as many people there because of fog and cold but I was wrong it was all crowded.
Please check my sentence. Is it correct to say "as many"?

I went to the gym today thinking there wouldn't be as many people there AS USUAL because of fog and cold ....
Just say it was crowded, not "all crowded". (I would say it was foggy and cold.)

You can't say "as many" without specifying as many as what. "As many as usual/normal."

But the sentence would be simpler to just say you didn't think there would be many people there.

Tufguy, you've (yet again) written the mother of all run-on sentences. I ran out of breath just reading it. You have at least three independent clauses mashed together. Focus on that before smaller details like 'many'.

Should it be mashed or meshed?
