The book: Wordbuilder by Guy Wellman.

Could you tell me whether there is a typo here?

Maybe "are fiercely anti nuclear power"? I mean the hyphen is erroneous here.

The hyphen is not an error.

'Anti' as a preposition doesn't need a hyphen. If there is a pyphen, then it is a prefix.
In this case can a prefix be used?

The prefix "anti" is often used without a hyphen.

The reason it looks awkward to me is that it precedes a two-word phrase so, of course, the "anti" appears to be connected only to the first word. If it just said "... are fiercely anti-nuclear", I'm not sure we'd be having this conversation.

The part of speech also will be different with and without a hyphen.

You are right. Something like 'anticlimax'.

The question is more whether it is a prefix here or a preposition. A preposition is definitely a separate word.

I suppose it should be a preposition.
