Hello again!

This embassy is probably the closest I’m ever going to get to North Korea.

The general idea:

The embassy has something in character/location which is the most similar to North Korea.

What do you think?

This structure is really tricky.

It's not incorrect, it's just a bit too literal. I can only assume that you are referring to the Embassy of North Korea in an unspecified country. If that's right, then it's almost true, rather than metaphorical or suggestive. Once you're inside the gates of a country's embassy/consulate/High Commission, you are actually on their land. So if you are inside the North Korean Embassy, you are actually effectively in North Korea.

It's not a poor example, it's just a little bit too literal.

This would be the kind of example I would use:

Kimchi is the national dish or North Korea (according to Wikipedia). Eating kimchi is the closest I'm going to get to North Korea.
