Mr. Chen: Hi, may I speak to Joy, please.
Joy’s mom: Who’s calling?
Mr. Chen: This is Mr. Chen from Nanmen Elementary School. I am her home room teacher. Because she is not at school, I make a phone call to check what happened.
Joy’s mom: Sorry, Mr. Chen. This is Joy’s mom. She is not feeling well today. I am going to take her to the doctor. Thanks for calling.
Mr. Chen: No problem. Take care.

He is Polish!
You should have given that as a reason why you were not satisfied and were asking here.

In any case, you should have allowed the members of WR Forums much more time to validate or contradict grassy’s helpful response.

Joy knows her homeroom teacher as 'Mr Chen', so that's how he would identify himself on the phone.

If he were calling his doctor's surgery, he'd probably say 'This is Boris Chen', or a friend, 'It's Boris', or his wife, 'It's me, Snookums'.
