If today is Tuesday, are the following sentences both correct?

1. I'm going to visit my father this Saturday or this Sunday..
2. I'm going to visit my father on this Saturday or on this Sunday.

Thanks.

Either one.

I'm going to visit my father this Saturday or Sunday.
2 sounds strange to me.

I prefer the first, but the second is not incorrect, at least in AmE. The second would be better as "on this Saturday or Sunday".

Thanks Raymott

Do American English use 'on" before this Saturday?

I wouldn't use both "on" and "this" in the same sentence (BrE).

I'm going to visit my father on Sunday.
I'm going to visit my father this Sunday.

I'm going to visit my father on Saturday or Sunday.
I'm going to visit my father this Saturday or Sunday.

I'm going to visit my father on Sunday.
I'm going to visit my father this Sunday.

I'm going to visit my father on Saturday or Sunday.
I'm going to visit my father this Saturday or Sunday.

They all work for me as well.

I wouldn't either; it sounds odd to me, bordering on wrong.

Just "bordering on"? I'd say it makes substantial inroads into being wrong.

PS: Does the font and the field for Likes and Thanks, etc have to be so big and intrusive?

Maybe I was being a bit kind.

It's a new system- the old system is part of some software that is going to become obsolete, so we had to change and this was the one that allowed existing Likes to be imported. The new system is bedding in, and we may be able to change the presentation.
