which verb would you choose in this case ?

"The course catalogue, provided(?) to me during the conference, proved to be very useful to address/direct/orient my studies"

I would appreciate any other formulation of the sentence.

The context is quite formal. The meaning is: "the description of the courses gave me the possibility to better orientate my studies before joining the Master"

What you think about: "channell/target my studies" ?

A word of caution - don't use words that you can't spell (channel).

If you are looking for a better word to use, I would suggest, in this case, "focus".
