Should one say 'to get permission from' or 'to get permission of'?

"I got permission of my father to buy a book
or
"I got permission from my father to buy a book"

(Not a Teacher)

As they're written, only the second one is right, but if you added a 'the' in front of 'permission' in the first sentence, both would be correct.
