Hello everyone,

I have a question concerning the construction "to make one's way" (for example, in a sentence like I managed to pull myself erect and make my way across the street.) I've already checked various sites out and they all say different things. Due to some of them, this construction is a phrasal verb, due to others, it is an idiomatic expression, or even an idiom. Can someone, pleeease, tell me, what this construction really is? Thank you very much in advance!

Not all phrases fit into neat categories like this.
It's possibly all those things.
