kindly answer which one is correct

1. I heard a car door to open and closing.
2. I heard a car door opening and closing.

I'm not a teacher!

Of these two, only the second one makes any sense.
But how about: "I heard a car door open and close"?

If you heard it only once, use Peter's suggestion: I heard it open and close.

If you say "I heard a car door opening and closing", it suggests that you heard it happen multiple times.

How about "I heard a car door to open and to close." is it also grammatically correct or incorrect. Thanks all of you for your helpful efforts, I just want to be confident as next time I will be able to answer without confusion.:)

Hello.:-D

"A/The car door was heard to open and close. (the "passive voice")" is grammatically correct.

Correct, but awkward. Who heard it? Not necessarily the speaker. Perhaps someone whose identity the speaker is concealing.
