Please see which is correct:

I love to watch plays.

OR

I love watching plays.
 
What do you think? What have you learned about infinitives and gerunds.
 
They are both correct, but they have different meanings.
 
They are different ways to express a fact. They mean the same to me.
 
In British English we often use the infinitive when we are talking about specific situations:

I like to watch plays when I have had a decent dinner beforehand.

The gerund would work when we are talking in general.
