Tom studied last night.
Tom was studied last night.

What is the different between senteces above. Are them correct?

Not a teacher.

The second one means that someone/something has studied Tom last night.

Tom might be a patient studied by doctors last night.

Not a teacher.

You'd probably say that Tom was examined by doctors last night.

With the original question, the first is correct. The second is unlikely to be correct in most contexts.

Is it possible that Tom was studied by medical students last night?

Not a teacher nor a native speaker.
That sounds quite strange to me. I'd avoid it.

Maybe he meant :
"he was studying last night" he studied and is possibly still studying currently

Just a guess.

I'm not a teacher.

Does the sentence "Tom was studied up" make any sense?

No. What did you think it might mean?

If he meant so, he should say "he has been studying since last night".

Not a teacher.

Does the sentence "Tom was studied up" make any sense?

Not to me.It could be used colloquially and people would be able to guess the meaning, but it'snot a standard phrase I have come across, at least not in BrE.

You could come up with a context where was studied is possible in a medical context, but not with medical students IMO. It might be OK with a rare and unknown disease.
