TOO or ALSO?

Hello,

Could you please clear up if the words “too” and “also” are interchangeable?

Is the second one correct?

  • - I like apples. - I like apples too.
  • - I like apples. - I also like apples.
  • - I like apples. - I like apples too and I also like bananas.
 
It's not very natural.
 
I think it depends on stress. One can naturally respond to "I like apples," uttered by someone else, with "I ALSO like apples," but not with "I also like APPLES."

However, one can naturally add to a previous statement that one has made with the latter: "I like bananas. I also like APPLES."
