1)My kids are too small to be given chocolate.
2)My kids are too little to be given chocolate.
Which of the bolded is correct? I would think the first. The sentences are mine.
 
Does their size really matter? I think you mean "My kids are too young to be given chocolate".

In very informal speech it is common to use big or little instead of old or young when referring to children of pre school age. In these sentences I think that it would be better to refer to their age.
