[Grammar] Transformation of sentens.

Original sentence: "Tell me when and where he was born." [ Turn into simple sentence]

To meke it simple sentence, My friend did, Tell me his birth place, but, I think, It's not a correct one, because, He only mention "birth place". As per sentence, I've to make this sentence as way where, His time of birth and, place of birth both will mention in one word. So, I suggest him to wirte, " Tell me about his birth." Is my answer correct? Please help me, with proper illustration. Thank you.

Simple (i.e., not complex) sentence: When and where was he born?

Original sentence: "Tell me when and where he was born." [Turn into simple sentence]

I want to convert this sentence into simple sentence. So, if, I wirte "Tell me about his birth", is the sentence correctly convert into simple sentence? If, this sentence is not correct, please, help me as soon as possible.. Thank you..
