Dear all,

What is the meaning of "turned over" in the following context:

a prisoner is speaking to his wife who came to visit him saying:
"They have moved me to a new block and I get turned over day and night. If not by them buggers, by them..."

Thanks a lot.

It almost certainly means "robbed".

Edit: It's slang. I think I know it from watching British crime dramas.

I have never been to prison, but I understand that prisoners can still own some things like cigarettes, magazines and food.

Yes, but who will ROB in the prison?!

I think in this situation "turned over" means having his cell searched by prison officers.

That suits the context best. Thanks a lot. I just couldn't find it in any dictionary.
