Turn the fan on and set it stop. (stop oscillating)

How we say stop oscillating?

Stop oscillating? Do you mean make it stop spinning?

The OP means to stop the fan from moving side to side while blowing.
"Lock it" may do the job.

Not a teacher.

Some oscillating fans have a setting to stop the oscillation. Others do not.

How we say stop oscillating?
"Turn on the fan and stop it oscillating, please."
"Turn on the fan and set it so it stays on me."

I think Matthew is spot on with his tip. Personally I would just tell someone to keep the fan pointed at me, although it doesn't mean the same thing.

Rather than dragging out the question, I'll just state that 'may' is far more appropriate than 'will'.

Because giving praise to Matthew is wrong?

Because you cannot guarantee that "and lock it" will be universally understood to mean what was intended.
