I suspect you mean "emotion about" and not "emotion for".
 
I prefer "about" but I wouldn't say "for" is completely wrong.
 
Do you mean if I say "Five things people feel very much emotion for:-...." it won't be true?
Well, "true" is not the right word. It certainly wouldn't be natural.

Once you find something you should stop looking.
 
The semi-colon is not used for that purpose. I would replace it with ":-".
They taught me that in primary school 80 years ago, Ted. We used to call it ‘two dots and a dash’.

I don’t know when it became non-standard, but It’s no longer used.
