Dear All,

Could you please listen to a short episode. I hear something like "at" rather than up, but it should up in "get the stairs up". Many thanks.

He whispers Sorry it took me so long to get up the stairs. There is no expression "get the stairs up"; I can think of an obscure situation involving attic stairs or other movable ones where that phrase might occur, but it's not really worth much consideration.

There does seem to be some sort of particle after "stairs" but I can't make it out. Maybe our BrE speakers can help.

It sounds to me like a puff. He's out of breath.

I had to listen to that four times before got it - my hearing is not too sharp these days - but I think you're right.

I didn't know I would download something just by clicking on the link. I guess I'll have to be more careful from now on.

I didn't know in advance either. It does seem to be harmless.

That's something to bear in mind in future. Whenever someone attaches an mp3 file, there is no way to play it directly via the website. Clicking on it will download it, and you will then have to play it through a media player on your device. It works differently from things like Vocaroo, where someone records their own voice and shares the recording via a link directly to the Vocaroo website from where you can play it. Links to YouTube videos (or similar) work the same way as Vocaroo.
