I am in favour of this. However, I tried it myself, and got disappointing results. I am therefore posting here my own thoughts on 'going to'. those on 'will' will follow soon. This is taken from a longer paper, so the numbering does not start at #1. and there may be references to parts I have not pasted here.:You are not alone. The subject has been discussed many times on this forum. Try searching the threads and read all the previous discussions.
I'm glad that I just speak it and don't have to understand it. ;-)
Lucky you! ;-) I would kill to be a native English speaker. :-(I'm glad that I just speak it and don't have to understand it. ;-)
There isn't a practical difference in many situations, and I feel that some teachers, grammars and course books do more harm than good when they seem to claim that in every reference to to a future situation one, and only one, way of expressing the future is correct. You and me both! I think I've avoided even attempting to answer the "will vs going to" threads in the past because a) I feel no difference between them when I use them and b) I couldn't explain any perceived difference well.
