I was presented with the following sentence:
Did Bob's mother had black hair? Bob's mother did not had black hair.
Obviously, I suggested that "had" be replaced with "have".
Later, when thinking about this issue, I could not think of a proper explanation for the same.
To correct this, you need to consider:
1. first person, second person, and third person
2. singular and plurals
3. Tenses: present, past, present continuous, and past tense
This sentence follows:
3rd person - Singular - past tense
But look at this...
Bob's mother had black hair
Bob's mother did not have black hair
Did Bob's mother have black hair?
How do i explain the difference?
