Hi,
Could you please explain the proper use of "Let" in narration?
I tried hard to understand the use of this word.
I learned that the verbs like "suggest", "propose" are used instead of the reporting verb, but don't know what is (Any preposition like "to") then used after these verbs.
Should I use the sentence pattern of indirect speech like,
"John suggested to / proposed to Emily that..........
"John suggested / proposed Emily that..........
Also let me know the verbs after which any propositions like "to" is used,
said, told, spoke, wrote, shouted, explained, appealed, begged, prayed, requested, invited, promised, argued, entreated etc.
It would be convenient for me to remember the pattern easily.
Like
said to <indirect obj> about <direct obj>
OR
said to <someone> about <something>
Thanks in advance
