What is the use of TO BE in english sentences?

For example need to be visited

Where and why we use To be?

You need to give us a complete sentence containing the phrase "need to be visited" in order for us to be able to answer you.

Your first question is far too wide-ranging for this website. If you are learning English, you probably learnt about the verb "to be" before anything else.

"To be" is the most common verb in English. It is used many different ways. It does not mean "to request someone to do something."

Note that I used its third-person singular present form two different ways in the preceding paragraph.

Thank you for the link and clarifications.

But my question was different, i think i could not properly explain to you.
I know the use of is, am and are (may be little bit) . But in some of the sentences we use "to be" not as a verb, i think as a word only.
For example: I need to be quoted these items. We need to be revised this quotation. This material is ready to be delivered. what is this "to be"?

I hope you may understand my question now.
Also, please highlight, if i made any grammatical mistake writing this question.

This material is ready to be delivered.

The verb to be there is part of a passive construction. The passive is made with a form of be + past participle. The meaning is that someone needs to deliver the material. The active is to deliver and the passive is to be delivered.

With your other two examples, I wouldn't use those sentences but something like the following:

I need a quotation for these items.
We need to have a revision of this quotation.
